2021 Spirit of Courage “Fund a Need” Charitable Patient Care Event
The Jennie Edmundson Foundation (www.jehfoundation.org) will have their 2021 Spirit of Courage Celebrity Weekend on August 6 and 7. As they celebrate their 19th year to “Fund a Need,” they celebrate and honor four individuals who join them and share their stories of courage during their battles with cancer. This year, Jennie Edmundson Foundation is excited to honor Donna Elliff, Deb Potter, Jake Powers, and Kevin Rutland.
The weekend is focused on these individuals, honoring them for their courage and fight against this deadly disease. Each one will share their incredible story during the Spirit of Courage Gala on Saturday, August 7, at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs. There will be social distancing provided with the table arrangements.
Since 2003, the Spirit of Courage events have raised nearly $2 million. 100% of those dollars have been donated to the Spirit of Courage Cancer Center – Charitable Patient Care Fund, providing assistance to uninsured and under-insured patients who need help covering expenses associated with diagnosis and treatment of cancer. This fund assists patients by paying for medications, treatments, and deductibles, as well as everyday living expenses such as groceries, rent, and gas. Without this type of help, these vulnerable members of our community would simply forgo treatment and/or medications.
To register for the event or for more information about the Jennie Edmundson Foundation and how you can make a difference through a donation to the Spirit of Courage Celebrity Weekend, go to www.jehfoundation.org or call (712) 396-6040.
