New 2022 Economic Forecast Report Shows Impact of Franchising on Nebraska Economy
The International Franchise Association (IFA, www.franchise.org) released its 2022 Economic Forecast Report showing the impact of franchising on the economy in Nebraska. Nationally, franchising helped lead the economic recovery, and in Nebraska, franchising employment grew at a rate of 8.50% with 4,378 new jobs created in 2021. 2022 will be a year of continued growth and normalization.
The 2022 Franchising Economic Outlook is a hallmark annual study detailing the franchise sector’s performance for the past year and projected economic outlook for the year ahead, as well as an in-depth state outlook for all 50 states and Washington, D.C. In Nebraska:
• Franchising grew to 5,708 establishments in 2021 and is expected to grow an additional 2.50% in 2022, increasing to 5,850 establishments.
• Economic output by franchises grew at a record rate of 16.0% in 2021, with an increased output of $5,190,000 million. Output growth is expected to continue into 2022 by 5.30%.
• Franchising in Nebraska is expected to create an additional 1,921 career opportunities in 2022.
