Meta Awards Grant, Technology to the Springfield Community Foundation

With gratitude, the Springfield Community Foundation (SCF), an Affiliated Fund of Midlands Community Foundation (MCF, midlandscommunity.org), is pleased to announce that Meta, formerly the Facebook company, has awarded a technology donation along with a $10,000 grant to the SCF for the betterment of the Springfield community. Meta’s lead donation will help to jumpstart fundraising for the SCF during the MCF Matching Charitable Program which began on Giving Tuesday, November 30, 2021, and ends January 5, 2022.

Under the Matching Charitable Program, MCF will provide matching funds for contributions made to the Springfield Community Foundation from November 30, 2021, through January 5, 2022. Matching donations will be made on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to a limit of $5,000 per individual donor, and subject to a maximum of $100,000 of matching dollars being available in the aggregate for all Funds. If more than $100,000 is contributed on an aggregate basis to all Funds, the matching dollars will be prorated among such donors based on the total contributions made. Matching dollars are for donations only. Charitable fund event sponsorships and/or event tickets are not eligible for matching dollars.

In addition to their financial contribution, Meta provided twenty-nine refurbished laptops to SCF for community use. They will be stored and utilized at the Springfield Memorial Library for residents to use on-location or check out at their convenience.
