Sarpy Chamber Welcomes Papillion Orthodontics with Ribbon Cutting
The Sarpy County Chamber hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 12 to celebrate the opening of Papillion Orthodontics (papillionsmiles.com) at 10955 Cumberland Dr., STE 101. Led by Shawn E. Powell, DDS, MS, Papillion Orthodontics began serving patients in the Papillion community on July 29, 2019. To celebrate a successful start, Dr. Powell welcomed friends, family, and chamber members and ambassadors to tour the beautiful new office and meet the team. They even served adorable smile-themed cookies to represent all the bright smiles they plan to create in Papillion.
Dr. Powell and his family love all things Papillion. He and his wife Alicia have been Papillion residents since 2012 and have added two children, Ainsley and Graham, to their family since. Dr. Powell is a dual trained specialist, having completed separate residencies in both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at UNMC. His extensive training combined with having treated thousands of children from birth to adolescence makes Dr. Powell uniquely qualified to diagnose your child’s orthodontic needs. He can tell you when early treatment is necessary and more importantly when it is not. Following dental school, Dr. Powell joined the U.S. Air Force Dental Corp. He is honored to have served at both Offutt AFB and Tinker AFB in Oklahoma as a Captain in the USAF.
Since opening, Papillion Orthodontics has already hosted a candy drive to give leftover Halloween candy back to local military personnel, sponsored local elementary fun runs, participated in elementary trunk or treats, and they will be presenting to nearby schools during Children’s Dental Health month in February.
