As America enters a new era of healthcare driven by personal and institutional accountability for improving outcomes, healthcare organizations are equally driven to deliver care of the highest quality. They are working to forge lasting relationships with the people and communities they serve by aligning their organizational cultures to become more effective and efficient at focusing on the needs of patients, families and caregivers.

To address these needs, leading independent healthcare research firm Professional Research Consultants, Inc., (PRC) recently announced that distinguished physician and quality expert Dr. William Maples will be joining PRC as the company’s first chief medical officer and will lead the company’s newly established Institute for Healthcare Excellence, LLC, (IHE) serving as executive director and chief experience officer.

Maples brings more than 30 years of experience to PRC, most recently serving as senior vice president and chief quality officer at Mission Health in Asheville, North Carolina, where he was responsible for quality and patient safety. Maples’ communications initiative, which is the Institute’s centerpiece, leverages peer-to-peer communication and leadership training to empower dedicated physicians and health professionals to design experiences that enhance patient and provider satisfaction, and create a culture of safety, trust, and compassion. Maples will officially join PRC on April 1, 2015.
