Dr. Joel Bessmer has been named among the top 15 concierge physicians in the country by Concierge Medicine Today.
Since 2006, Dr. Bessmer has been practicing a unique, patient-focused model of internal medicine and primary care. In 2009, Bessmer left a large health system to start his own concierge medicine practice, and became the founding partner and Medical Director for Members.MD. Today, four Members.MD-affiliated physicians practice concierge medicine in the Metro area under Bessmer’s training and guidance.
Concierge medicine is a health care model where patients pay an annual fee, and in turn, become members of an affiliated medical practice. Members.MD concierge physicians limit their practice to 400 patients, as opposed to 2000 patients in traditional models. Such an exchange allows the physicians more time to spend with every patient at every appointment and address specific health needs. In turn, patients receive a greater quality of care that is focused on prevention and improving their health and well-being.
