MICAH House to Host Open House at New Women’s Shelter

MICAH House (themicahhouse.org) (1415 Avenue J, Council Bluffs) invites you to attend an open house on Saturday, December 15 from 9 to 11 a.m. to tour their new women’s shelter.

Currently, MICAH House has more than 200 women on the wait list seeking safe shelter and support services. To address this need, MICAH House has undergone significant renovations to serve this vulnerable population. The women’s shelter will include 10 rooms, 26 beds, and will offer a therapeutic, healing environment for individuals. A full-time therapist will help women address past trauma and issues that contribute to their current situation.

Additionally, MICAH House is partnering with Youth Emergency Services and Women’s Center for Advancement to provide housing and services for their populations. MICAH House has a projected opening date of January 1, 2019.

The open house is an opportunity for the community to see the space and learn more about MICAH House’s mission. MICAH House is located on the Charles E. Lakin Human Services campus in Council Bluffs.
