Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital to Open New Women-and-Newborns Area

The Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital (jehfoundation.org) team believes that women and mothers in Council Bluffs and Western Iowa deserve exceptional healthcare that is close to home. To be completed this month, the transformation of Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital’s current birthing area into the hospital’s new Women-and-Newborns area will create the premier women’s-health facility in Southwest Iowa, providing local mothers, newborns, and their families with unrivalled care and support delivered by leading clinicians and staff in a state-of-the-art environment.

This project is ongoing, and has progressed even despite financial obstacles posed by this year’s unanticipated COVID-19 outbreak. When completed, the Women and Newborns area will offer features and services such as the following: six private rooms where mothers can labor in a comfortable, “at-home” environment; a dedicated C-Section suite; 12 post-partum rooms for mother-infant bonding; four Level-II NICU bays with space for private, complex-care consultations; and a sophisticated infant-security system.

The highly skilled clinicians at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital’s new Women-and-Newborns area will provide women, new mothers, and babies the most compassionate, current, and extraordinary care. For more information on how you can help, please call (712) 396- 6040 or visit jehfoundation.org.
