3D Mammograms Now Available at Nebraska Medicine – Village Pointe
Nebraska Medicine Radiology (www.nebraskamed.com) reached a momentous occasion just in time for October, which happens to be Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The doors are now officially open on a brand new, state of the art imaging center at Nebraska Medicine – Village Pointe. Appointments can be made for 3D mammograms, which increase detection of invasive cancers by 40 percent and decrease the need for repeat imaging in up to 40 percent of patients.
Other radiology services now being offered at the Village Pointe location include: High Field Open Bore MRI (high resolution scanner with larger opening in a spa-like suite with patient controlled lighting, videos and music), Dual Energy CT (state of the art technology with high resolution imaging and marked reduction in dose), Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry, and Digital X-ray.
On September 22, an open house was held in conjunction with the celebration of 34-year-old breast cancer survivor Ashli Brehm’s one-year “Cancerversary” at Nebraska Medicine – Village Pointe. Friends, family and members of her medical team were in attendance and guests had the chance to learn more about 3D mammography.The public was invited to learn more about the specialties Nebraska Medicine – Village Pointe has to offer during a free health fair that followed on September 24. Health screenings, cooking demonstrations, chair massages and more were offered.
