On Friday, October 14, 2011 UNO students and Omaha community members will have a chance to “walk in someone else’s shoes for a night” at the annual Fashion Victim Show. The event will be held on the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s campus in the Milo Bail Student Center Ballroom. Doors will open at 6pm and the event will begin at 7pm.

Fashion Victim is an injury prevention program combined with a fashion show as a fundraiser. All donations are distributed locally on prevention efforts and to provide victims with services. The show includes a diverse panel of speakers who give different perspectives on how alcoholic abuse can impact a person. The show also features the fashion show which includes several local models, designers and their latest fashions including men walking in red high heels.

There are 75,000 deaths caused by alcohol in the United States every year. In collaboration with founder, Amy Wieczorek, and the UNO Women’s Resource Center, the UNO Panhellenic Council has chosen to host the fashion show in order to spread prevention and awareness of alcohol abuse, as well as to benefit local Omaha affected victims.
