The Empowerment Network (empoweromaha.com), Native Omahans Club, Omaha Economic Development Corporation, and other community partners are excited to present the 23rd Biennial Celebration of the Native Omaha Days Festival (www.nativeomahadays.org), which will be held July 26–August 2 to celebrate 46 years of memories, culture, and community spirit in North Omaha. Event organizers are preparing for the best celebration to date. The Festival will feature a number of traditional events, such as Gospel Fest at Morning Star Baptist Church; Movie Night at Film Streams; Stroll Down Memory Lane in the Village at 24th and Lake; Native Omaha Days Homecoming Parade along N 30th St.; Saturday Night Blues Concert featuring Pokey Bear and Big Robb; Homecoming dance; Sunday Worship Services; Blue Monday, and more!
Founded in 1976, Native Omaha Days has become a one-of-a-kind homecoming celebration that attracts thousands back to the North Omaha area. The mission of the Native Omaha Days Organizing Committee is to honor African-American culture, history, people, and serve as a catalyst for the ongoing revitalization of a thriving North Omaha! This year’s festival is sponsored by North Turnback Tax Historical Grant, Douglas County Visitor Improvement Fund, and Creighton University.
