Release (releaseinc.org) is pleased to announce an exciting update to the Release Care Closet that comes as thanks to Eagle Scout Jacob Schrock. In June, Jacob completed his project, Sweet Dreams Pajama Drive, and exceeded his goals! He delivered new shelving, 284 pairs of brand new PJs, and 64 fleece-tie blankets for children in foster care.

The Release Care Closet was started over a year ago to serve Release’s foster parents and aid children just entering care. Many times, when a child enters foster care, they may not have any clothing, PJs, toys or school supplies. Developing the closet was a way to meet these needs. The Care Closet is open to all children who are currently in foster care with Release or any other Omaha area agency.

Release works with youth and families that are involved in the juvenile justice or child welfare/foster care system. They employ a multi-disciplined approach using therapists, social workers, chaplains, mentors, and foster care parents. They follow nationally recognized best practices and offer trauma-informed services to all their clients. Release is locally known in the field for working with clients that have exhausted all other options or are denied by other agencies. Their number one desire is to see youth and families in Omaha become safe, together, healthy, and free.
