Bringing awareness to mental health is a big part of Clearwater Counseling (clearwatercounselingpc.org), PC’s mission. The month of September, which is full of special days dedicated to shedding light on many important mental health topics, is a great opportunity to learn and share information.

For the entire month of September, Clearwater Counseling encourages individuals to acknowledge Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month, as suicide is one of the top 10 causes of death. This observation is intended for people to discuss resources, warning signs, and risk factors surrounding this highly stigmatized topic. Other important occasions in September that bring attention to the topics of mental health, wellbeing, and treatment include the following:

  • September 5 – National Shrink Day
  • September 13 – Positive Thinking Day
  • September 25 – National Psychotherapy Day
