Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Douglas County (casaomaha.org) invites the Omaha community to sign up for their 2nd Annual CASA Classic Golf Tournament presented by Union Pacific at Oak Hills Club on August 22.
Individuals and businesses are invited to make a difference in the life of a child in foster care by hosting a foursome or sponsoring the event. Registration for foursomes is $1,000, which includes green fees, golf cart, lunch and dinner, open bar, and a gift. Sponsorship information and foursome registration can be found at casaomaha.org/casaclassic.html. Those interested in becoming a sponsor can contact casaclassic@casaomaha.org to ensure the sponsorship level is available.
For 24 years, CASA volunteers have provided an individualized voice and advocated for interventions and services that improve outcomes of well-being, safety, and permanency for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. The funds raised during CASA Classic will ensure that more children in foster care in the Omaha area will have the dedicated advocacy of a CASA Volunteer.
Court Appointed Special Advocates for Douglas County is a nonprofit organization that trains and supports volunteers to represent the best interests of victims of child abuse, neglect, and severe domestic conflict. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court and in the community. The desired result is that children be placed in safe, loving homes where they can thrive. Golfers from last year’s CASA Classic included (L-R) Ethan Cox, Blake Minden, Lily Breukelman, and Natalie Campbell.
