Village Canvas and Cabernet opened Sept. 14 with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Omaha Chamber and city officials.

Village Canvas and Cabernet is Omaha’s newest art venue, modeled after the popular “paint and sip” industry found in many cities across the US. Located in the DLR building at 6457 Frances Street in trendy  AkSarBen Village, the specialty shop will provide artist-guided painting sessions, an art gallery, and a bar featuring reasonably priced wine, beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee.

Kathy Byrnes and her husband, Jack, are the owners of Village Canvas and Cabernet who are also partners in the LLC which owns and operates the Hot Shops Art Center in north downtown Omaha. Inspired by their love of the arts and years of experience at the Hot Shops, they hope to create a place for creative exploration.

Corporations looking for team-building experiences or an alternate to the traditional office party will find options at Village Canvas and Cabernet.  Although the shop doesn’t provide food, they will assist with arranging for catering options, of which there are many in AkSarBen Village.
