U.S. Cellular upgraded the wireless experience for its Nebraska customers in 2013 by investing $24.2 million in 4G LTE network enhancements across the state. Currently, nearly 90 percent of U.S. Cellular customers have access to 4G LTE speeds that are up to 10 times faster than 3G and similar to a cable Internet connection. The company also invested $5.9 million in upgrades to its existing high-speed network in Nebraska.

In addition to network enhancements, U.S. Cellular invested $167,000 in Nebraska to upgrade its in-store experience with a high-engagement design that makes shopping an easy and enjoyable experience. Updates include an expanded device discovery zone, a connected devices engagement counter and a lounge.

U.S. Cellular is also dedicated to supporting education and the pressing needs of schools.

St. Pius X/St. Leo School in Omaha was a 2013 Calling All Communities champion and received $25,000 to enhance the learning experience for its students. In addition, 64 teachers received $32,639 in funding from U.S. Cellular for their classroom projects they posted on DonorsChoose.org through the company’s Calling All Teachers campaign.
