TR Construction (trconcreteconstructionomaha.com) has completed the build on a new fire station at 3403 Q St. for the City of Omaha. This station is replacing the old building in South Omaha on the corner of 25th and L St.
“Old station 31 down in South Omaha was an iconic building but definitely had outlived its use. We really needed to provide a better response too, so this spot was perfect. It’s really going to help our response times, and it is the first new station we have built and opened in over 20 years,” said Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert.
The fire station has an 8,200-square-foot truck apparatus bay with four drive lanes, 9,000-square-feet of living space, and sleeping quarters. It also has 11 individual bedrooms for first responders. There’s an exercise room, a day room with a big-screen TV, a kitchen, and a command center.
The Omaha Fire Station #31 project started in July of 2021. TR Construction’s scope of work on the project included building foundations, cast-in-place walls, building floor slabs, concrete paving, colored concrete patios, and sidewalks.
