Toastmasters District 24 is Speaking Up Through Online Club Meetings
Resilient Toastmasters District 24 (www.d24tm.org) members are stepping up to help each other stay connected via online platforms that are working like a charm. In the current social-distancing era, the club’s online meetings are giving people a place to practice speaking, teaching them how to set up a place in their home spaces that offer proper lighting and sound, and helping members maintain their strong sense of community, even when physically distanced.
With 49 clubs now open to digital guests and visitors, the group continues to serve as a great place for members to grow communication and leadership skills. Outstanding Toastmasters members are stepping up to help others connect online, too. Volunteers have donated their Pro Zoom accounts, helped train others to use Zoom, and encouraged members to give online meetings a try. Toastmasters also hosts a Pro Zoom account that any club can reserve for meetings, but only one at a time.
Toastmasters International is a worldwide nonprofit educational organization that empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.
