The UNO Alumni Association is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and throughout 2013 will be promoting “Show The O” which is a campaign focusing on the growth and power of the UNO alumni network worldwide.

The Alumni Association was founded June 6, 1913, by UNO’s graduating class that consisted of 13 members. Since then nearly 110,000 graduates have joined the association, with more than 94,000 members in the United States and living abroad.

“Show the O” provides alumni with a large “O” flag and requests members submit a photograph of them holding the flag in front of some notable icon where they live or are traveling to. The photos are displayed on an interactive website, showtheo.com, which includes a clickable map and photo gallery indicating all the locations around the world where “O” flags have been displayed and brief information about participants. So far, flags have been displayed at numerous destinations spanning four continents.

Alumni, faculty, staff and students can request that an O flag be sent to them for the photo (flags are to be returned). Participants also can download an “O” banner that can be printed and used for photos. You may purchase a flag from the UNO Bookstore or online at www.unobookstore.com.
