The Public Art Commission and Omaha By Design are proud to announce the development of a new website for Public Art Omaha, as well as a new mobile phone app to provide better access to public art in Omaha as well as to promote their work in the community.

With the help of a generous donation from the Omaha Community Foundation and the technical assistance of UNO students at the Peter Kiewit Institute, the project team began the process of collecting and compiling information about Omaha’s public art in 2009.  The new site is currently in development and will feature photos and information about art that is on public property and viewable from public spaces. It will also enable residents and artists to submit information about their works to be included in the site.

The Public Art Omaha mobile phone app for iPhone and Android will enable users to locate the nearest public art, take art tours, and even suggest pieces for inclusion. Visit http://publicartomaha.org/pages/contact/mobile-apps for instructions on how to download the app.
