The Jewell Brings Jazz and Fine Dining to Omaha, Announces Grand Opening Dates
With a nod to Omaha’s jazz heritage and cutting-edge design, The Jewell (www.jewellomaha.com) opened for business in January in downtown Omaha’s Capitol District, at 1030 Capitol Ave. The club’s soft opening took place January 16–20, but the official grand opening celebration will be held February 6 and 7.
In the style of major jazz clubs in larger cities across the U.S., The Jewell will offer two seatings each night at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Customers will be able to enjoy an exceptional jazz experience in an intimate setting along with incredible food and drinks. The club is classy and sleek, with each detail chosen to provide customers with a one-of-a-kind experience.
The Jewell is named in honor of Omaha music promoter Jimmy Jewell, Jr., who booked the Dreamland Ballroom and helped bring jazz legends through Omaha from the 1920s through the 50s and 60s. Artists like Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong, and Nat King Cole all performed at Dreamland Ballroom and other venues in Omaha alongside homegrown stars like Preston Love, Anna Mae Winburn, and Lloyd Hunter.
The Jewell is a music and dining experience unlike anything else in Omaha, and will play host to both nationally-known acts and local, emerging artists. Tickets and information about upcoming shows can be found on the website www.jewellomaha.com.
