The organizers of the Johnny “The Jet” Rodgers National College Football Return Specialist Award have signed an agreement with the Ralston Arena to hold the event at the Arena on the second Thursday in April for the next 10 years starting April 10, 2014.  The announcement was made during a news conference Wednesday, August 14, at the Ralston Arena.

The Jet Award has been given for the past two years to the most outstanding College Football Return Specialist.   A portion of the proceeds from the event will go toward the Johnny Rodgers Career and Technical Education Scholarship fund at Metropolitan Community College.

The Jet Award event will feature a banquet dinner and award presentation on the floor of the arena, followed by a party in the Ralston Arena’s Community Rink .  Event and table sponsorships for the dinner and award ceremony will be available at several levels.  The dinner menu will be planned, prepared and served by the Ralston Arena staff with the assistance of Metro Community College culinary arts students.

Tickets to view the award presentation from the Arena’s main bowl and attend the after party in the Community Rink will be available to the general public.  The dinner will serve 700 to 800 persons. Seating for another 2,000 will be available for the award ceremony.
