The Empowerment Network (www.empoweromaha.com) hosted their 13th Annual Christmas in the Village on December 2, 2023, at 24th and Lake. This community celebration and holiday tradition was presented by the Empowerment Network and the Omaha Economic Development Corporation (OEDC) in partnership with 50+ businesses and organizations. It was sponsored by American National Bank, Douglas County Visitor Improvement Fund, Nebraska Arts Council, Nebraska Cultural Endowment, KETV, Revive! Omaha and Veridian Credit Union.
At the event, thousands of attendants enjoyed a photo op with the Grinch at Whoville, free goodie bags, treats, Santa and Mrs. Claus, face painting, interactive arts and crafts, free horse-drawn carriage rides, live outdoor holiday music, nativity animals including a camel, exhibits, cartoon characters, tours and Balloon Twister at the Great Plains Black History Museum, shopping and more!
The Empowerment Network’s Annual Christmas in the Village at 24th and Lake wouldn’t have been possible without the partnership of many community organizations and businesses as well as volunteers.
