A kick-off gathering for the 36th Annual Archbishop’s Dinner for Education was held April 16th at the home of Julie and Steve Kenney, co-chairpersons of the September 12, 2013 dinner planned for Embassy Suites in La Vista.

The annual dinner honors elementary and secondary school teachers and administrators for their outstanding commitment and service to Archdiocese of Omaha Catholic schools. Dinner proceeds provide scholarships for families in need, and are matched by the Children’s Scholarship Fund of New York at $.33 for every $1.00 raised.

The honorees for the 2013 Archbishop’s Dinner for Education are:  Administrators of the Year–Stacy Uttecht, St. Wenceslaus, Dodge; Laura Hickman, Duchesne Academy, Omaha; Secondary Educators of the Year–Mary Bartak, Pope John XXIII Central Catholic High School, Elgin; Rev. Steven Emanuel, Gross Catholic High School, Bellevue; Elementary Educators of the Year–Barbara Stansbury, St. Michael, South Sioux City; Michael Hartigan, Christ the King, Omaha; Educators of the Year – Special Education and Inner City–Katie Barmettler, Sacred Heart, Omaha; Nancy Gillpatrick, St. Bernard, Omaha.
