The Strategic Air & Space Museum was selected to participate in a three year Spaceflight Explorers grant program with Johnson Space Center.  They have been given the opportunity to train with other museum leaders, as well as experienced NASA staff, to create a “life in space” themed kit for their use.  Spaceflight Explorers was designed to assist informal educators as they conduct NASA-themed summer camps for underserved students in elementary and middle school.  This new project provides resources and opportunities that highlight the historic past, successful present and the bright future of NASA’s human space exploration. The Strategic Air & Space Museum has already logged over 30 hours with the “life in space” kit through their summer camp programs and Science Zone activities.

The Strategic Air & Space Museum is taking learning to new heights as they pave the way for future thinkers with the latest and most cutting edge experiences at the museum and in communities across the state and region.
