Sarpy County EDC Celebrates Another Strong Year of Growth
Approximately 260 people attended the Sarpy County Economic Development Corporation’s (EDC) (www.omahachamber.org/economic-development/sarpy-county-economic-development-corporation) Annual Meeting on February 7 at the Beardmore Event Center of Bellevue. In addition to highlighting economic indicators and development activity across the county, Sarpy County EDC announced six landed projects in 2018. Those projects total more than $1.2 billion in capital investment and 365 new and retained jobs.
Landed projects include an expansion of the Facebook data center campus (1.6 million ft.2 ) in Papillion, a warehouse storage facility (60,000 ft.2)in Papillion, Malloy Electric (35,000 ft.2) in La Vista, Sustainable Mechanical (5,000 ft.2) in La Vista, Merk building expansion (75,000 ft.2 in Papillion), and Omaha Box Company relocation (335,000 ft.2) in Papillion.
Sarpy County EDC also presented several awards and recognitions at the meeting. Awards include: Partner in Economic Development Award – Mark Norman, senior director of client services for the Greater Omaha Chamber; Business Progress Award – Marathon Ventures, a full-service food and beverage processing/manufacturing, packaging, and marketing company located in Bellevue.
