The Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce a strong inaugural year participating in the National Civics Bee® in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. This marks the first year Nebraska has taken part in the program—and the results are already making an impact. Sarpy Chamber ranked 8th in the nation for total essay applications submitted, receiving more than 200 student applications from across the region. As a state, Nebraska placed in the Top 5 nationwide for participation, highlighting a strong commitment to civic education and student engagement.

The Sarpy Chamber will host the National Civics Bee Regional Competition on April 22 from 2–5 p.m. at Papillion Landing. Finalists will compete for prizes and the opportunity to advance, showcasing their knowledge of civics and their ideas for improving their communities.
