Own It Omaha, a one-day event for Midwest women entrepreneurs, is taking the entrepreneurial community to the next level with dynamic speakers and an innovative agenda.  Set for Friday, February 6 at the Thompson Center on the University of Nebraska Omaha, Main Campus, it is designed to connect woman business owners with the business community and has a platform to pitch their businesses and products. For the first time in the Midwest, women entrepreneurs will have the chance to pitch and get feedback from business leaders in three key areas: their funding pitch, their public relations pitch and their product distribution pitch.

The funding pitch segment features angel investor and Koley Jessen Partner Bart Dillashaw; investor, entrepreneur, and Author Karen Linder and Laura Classen, Executive Director of Nebraska Angels.   The panel is moderated by Deyna Rouse, Partner at Lutz Accounting Firm. Barbara Soderlin from the Omaha World Herald, Erica Wassinger from Straight Shot, Omaha’s entrepreneurial incubator, and Angela Woltman from Strictly Business comprise the media panel, giving women feedback on their PR pitch.  Finally, Hy-Vee director Ginny Ward is joined by Laurie Wolford of Spirit World and Bart Dillashaw of Koley Jessen.  They will provide feedback for consumer products on the retail distribution pitch panel.  The day culminates with an after-hours networking reception hosted by the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce.

Own It Omaha will also feature topics that address the core issues entrepreneurs and business owners face to succeed, funding options, sales, securing government contracts and corporate bids, importing and exporting issues, intellectual property, marketing and social media.
