Omaha Box Company Joins LDI Family

Liberty Diversified International (LDI; www.libertydiversified.com) announces acquisition of the assets of Omaha Box Company (www.omahabox.com), a designer and manufacturer of custom corrugated cartons and displays.
According to Mike Fiterman, LDI’s Chairman and CEO, “We have great respect for the 125-year history of Omaha Box Company and now they will be a part of the LDI family of packaging companies. We will continue manufacturing from their current site under their familiar brand, and we have offered their 50 employees jobs with LDI.”

Fiterman said that LDI’s own history as a family-owned company founded in 1918 assures a smooth transition. Omaha Box Company President Robert M. Knapp, Jr., who will maintain a leadership role with the company, said, “When we decided to sell the company, LDI rose to the top of our list as a buyer because they share similar values, including care for customers, employees and the community.”

Fiterman said that Omaha Box will be an excellent regional complement to LDI’s Liberty Carton Company based in Minneapolis. “We’re continuing to expand our reach in the nation’s heartland as we add capacity to serve our packaging customers,” Fiterman said. Liberty Carton Company (LCC) is a nationally recognized designer and manufacturer of corrugated packaging containers and point-of-purchase displays. As both companies are privately held, purchase price was not disclosed.
