Local nonprofit, No More Empty Pots (NMEP), is hosting the grand opening of their Greenhouse Building, designed by Nikki Klugh Design Group (nikkiklughdesign.com), located at the Highlander Accelerator campus on December 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. NMEP invites their neighbors of Greater Omaha to preview the rooms and spaces that make up the three-level facility as well as to discover how to get involved.
No More Empty Pots’ mission is to connect individuals and groups to improve self-sufficiency, regional food security and economic resilience of urban and rural communities through advocacy and action. The Greenhouse provides year-round, vertical farming of fresh produce, a space for local chefs and community members to prepare and store food, a research lab for product development and a classroom space for educational programs.
Interior designer Nikki Klugh and NMEP came together to create this beautiful space to support their programs and partnerships. Nikki Klugh and her team redesigned six spaces to create an inviting space for the community and pay homage to No More Empty Pots’ core values: education, stewardship and sustainability.
