On September 16, 2015, the Nebraska Supreme Court released new guidelines to calculate child support for Nebraska parents. Angela Dunne of Omaha firm Koenig|Dunne was the divorce attorney who was appointed to the Nebraska Child Support Advisory Committee, which provided the Nebraska Supreme Court with their recommendations in December of 2014.

The Supreme Court adopted one of the recommendations made by the Committee, which is that the amount that the parent pays for health insurance for themself was added as a possible deduction on the child support calculation worksheet. It is critical that anyone paying or receiving child support or sharing expenses consult with their attorney to learn how these changes may impact their family.
