The Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (NCDHH) has been serving Nebraskans who are deaf, deaf-blind, and hard of hearing since 1979, and is also now assisting local businesses to better serve their clients’ diverse needs.
Nearly 20% of Nebraskans have a degree of hearing loss, and 1 in 3 over the age of 65. Whether it’s information and referrals for assistive technology, hearing aids, or requesting a sign language interpreter, the Commission has you covered. Their trained team of specialists will work with your business or organization to better serve your clientele in the areas of communications, employment, access to entertainment, information and social resources, emergency planning, hearing aid affordability and family support. For those who will need to request a sign language interpreter, NCDHH’s Interpreter Referral Program provides a list of qualified, licensed interpreters in your area.
