The Greater Omaha Chapter #116 of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) (nawic.org) will host its annual Block Kids event on January 11 from 9 a.m. to noon a t Metropolitan Community College, South Campus (2909 Edward Babe Gomez Ave.).
This fun, hands-on event, organized by the NAWIC Education Foundation (NEF), invites students in grades K-6 to explore careers in construction by building creative projects with materials like blocks, rocks, string, foil and poster board.
Participants will have one hour to design their projects, followed by interviews with judges who will evaluate creativity, communication and enthusiasm. Local winners will advance to regional and national competitions.
