Mutual 1st Federal (MutualFirst.com), a community chartered, not-for-profit credit union has recently rebranded to incorporate the fundamentals of the organization. The Respectfully Yours tagline added to the logo reinforces that the credit union is a member-owned organization, focused on the members and community. Mutual 1st Federal’s six core values have been highlighted with the rebrand: Respect, Integrity, Passion, Service, Community and Learning.
Being a community-focused organization, Mutual 1st Federal has re-vamped the employee-managed and credit-union backed Community Involvement Team, whose mission is to assist nonprofit organizations that are striving to improve the education and quality of life for residents in the community.
Mutual 1st Federal provides free financial seminars and workshops to a variety of organizations, but the largest community focus is through supporting four organizations per year, rotating quarterly. In 2015 Mutual 1st Federal will support the Food Bank for the Heartland, ALS in the Heartland, Nebraska Humane Society and Child Saving Institute. Employees had fun supporting the Food Bank for the Heartland with a SOUPer Bowl cook-off in late January, and a can building contest in March, where Oscar the Grouch was a favorite amongst staff and members. Second quarter support to ALS in the Heartland began with sponsoring their Annual Community Walk in April, including an employee team walking the event.
