MLCDC Receives $20K Grant from US Bank Foundation

Midlands Latino Community Development Corporation (MLCDC, midlandslatinocdc.org) is excited to announce it has received a $20,000 gift from the US Bank Foundation to support Entrepreneurship for Latino Entrepreneurs.

“Immigrants in our communities face many barriers that make breaking the multigenerational cycle of poverty significantly more challenging,” said Executive Director Juan Montoya. “The support of US Bank allows us to continue to provide technical assistance and help to lower the entry barriers to entrepreneurship, especially for disadvantaged Latino communities in the Midlands.”

With the help of this grant, the Entrepreneurship training program will continue to assist and provide resources in their own language to new Latinx small businesses and continue the support of small Latinx businesses that struggle to remain profitable. Training includes financial education, business plan creation, industry training, and marketing plan, and it will be provided in-person and through virtual platforms.

Many people know of the Midlands Latino Community Development Corporation as a place where individuals received training to open childcares, but the mission at the heart of the organization is to provide training opportunities to low- and moderate -income individuals to achieve financial stability and economic growth through entrepreneurship.
