In an effort to enhance the lives of those we serve, Midwest Geriatrics (MGI) has initiated a program to allow residents to connect with family and friends across the country.  The program rolled out at Florence Home Healthcare earlier this summer and is scheduled to roll out at Royale Oaks Assisted Living and House of Hope Assisted Living yet this fall.  Utilizing a grant from the Omaha Community Foundation, MGI purchased four iPads for its care communities, and by using Skype and Facetime apps, video calls are facilitated between residents and their loved ones.  Studies have shown that up to 50% of residents in long-term care communities never receive visitors.  This program is designed to bring the visitors to our residents using technology.  It has been received with enthusiasm and excitement from all who have participated.

The healthcare family of Midwest Geriatrics, Inc. has been a part of the Omaha community for 109 years.
