May is when we celebrate and recognize many individuals who dedicate themselves to their healthcare profession and to the hospitals who are committed to their communities. Nurses Week begins May 6 – 12 starting on Florence Nightingale’s birthday with Hospital Week following the week of May 12 – 18. Please join Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital (jehfoundation.org, MJE) in shining a spotlight on the hospital and healthcare workers who go above and beyond in saving lives every day.

MJE wants to thank all of the employees, staff, physicians and volunteers who make this hospital one of the best care facilities in the area and to express appreciation for all they do, every day, in providing patients and family members with exceptional care.

MJE prides itself on its reputation of caring, quality of care, expertise and the compassion shown to all. In the late 1800’s a group of women banded together to live their faith and help people less fortunate by showing compassion in helping and healing. These ladies were our founders and later incorporated into the Women’s Christian Association (WCA). Their mission continues today as part of the MJE’s philosophy.

As we prepare for new challenges in healthcare, MJE will continue to be at the forefront providing the “best care” for our community and SW Iowa.  To the many nurses and healthcare providers who share their expertise and compassion day in and day out, who continue to exemplify who and what MJE does, thank you!
