Mervin Reese Photographers celebrated the grand opening of their new studio with an open house and a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Omaha Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, November 15th. Brothers/owners Jim and Steve Reese moved to their new studio located just northeast of Westroads at 9802 Nicholas St. Suite 210. Their new camera room is able to accommodate much larger groups and the studio is surrounded by windows, which they can take advantage of to photograph in the soft, natural light the windows provide.

Founded by their adopted father Mervin J. “Bud” Reese Jr. in 1952, Mervin began his career taking portraits of children at the clients’ homes. In 1957, he expanded his business and moved west to 87th and Pacific. The studio made their home in Countryside Village for 55 years and became the oldest tenants until moving this year.

Mervin Reese Photographers’ quality and style is famous. Their formula for photographing children and family groups is unique and they have traveled the U.S. and abroad teaching their method.  Bud Reese retired in 1993 and sold the studio to Jim and Steve. Today, the brothers continue their father’s tradition by creating high quality portraits for Fortune 500 companies and many families in the area.
