MENTOR Nebraska Recognizes Businesses, Advocates, and Mentors

MENTOR Nebraska’s (www.MENTORNebraska.org) 9th Annual Mentoring Awards Luncheon on March 6 brought nearly 400 youth-serving professionals, mentors, community and business leaders, Mayor Jean Stothert, and First Lady Susanne Shore together to celebrate mentoring in Nebraska. The luncheon honored local businesses, advocates, and mentors for their contributions to mentoring.

MENTOR Nebraska recognized the Greater Omaha Chamber as the 2019 Business of the Year. The Chamber has been a key partner in recruiting mentors, elevating the mentoring discussion with Omaha leaders, implementing the REACH Beyond Mentoring Program, and helping young people achieve their full potential. The Empowerment Network was recognized as the 2019 Advocate of the Year. Under Willie Barney’s leadership, the Empowerment Network has connected hundreds of youth with mentors over the last 10 years. MENTOR Nebraska also recognized Vicki Muli as the 2019 Mentor of the Year. Vicky has been a mentor through Girls Inc. of Omaha for more than eight years.

MENTOR Nebraska’s vision is for every young person to have the supportive relationships they need to grow and develop into thriving, productive, and engaged adults. Learn more at www.MENTORNebraska.org or call (402) 715-4175.
