McGuigan Arts Academy Brings Theatre, Art, and Music Education to Omaha

Super talent Billy McGuigan, known for bringing Buddy Holly and The Beatles to life on stage, opened the McGuigan Arts Academy (www.mcguiganartsacademy.com) in January. The Academy’s mission is devoted to teaching life skills through hands-on studies in the arts. Acknowledging that not every student in the arts wants to be a performer, McGuigan Arts Academy nurtures and showcases talent in every artistic realm.

“We’re passionate about providing real life experiences to students of all ages in the arts,” said CEO Kate Whitecotton. “We provide opportunities to showcase their talents in a professional setting. We are here to show our students that this can be a very real career path, if they choose, and we’ll give them the tools they need to thrive out there.”

McGuigan Arts Academy classes are taught by full-time professionals and led by Artistic & Education Director Kimberly Faith Hickman. A rare Broadway accredited director, Hickman honed her talent working on numerous Tony Award winning and nominated Broadway shows.

McGuigan Arts Academy operates year-round classes in their studio in Countryside Village as well as implements their programming in theatres and school districts across the United States.
