La Casa Pizzaria Celebrates 65 Years of Legendary Pizza & Pasta

In 1953, La Casa Pizzaria (lacasapizzaria.net) founder Joe Patane opened his doors on 44th & Leavenworth in Omaha. His Neapolitan-style pizza immediately gained a fan base. As word spread, patrons knew they could drop by to relax and have some signature Italian comfort food.

As time passed, the demand for pizza outgrew the capacity of the dining room and La Casa began offering carry-out. This allowed convenience to La Casa’s customers, and suddenly anyone within driving distance had the opportunity to enjoy the signature rectangular-sliced pies in the comfort of their own home.

A few years ago La Casa recognized a new way to make sure far away fans could enjoy their favorite pizza by adding shippable pizzas to their operations. Now anyone, anywhere can serve up their favorite pizza from the locally well know shop on Leavenworth.

In 2014, it was time once again to evolve. That spring, the La Casa Food Truck began bringing the restaurant’s signature recipes to businesses and events all over town. You’d be hard-pressed to find a spring or summer day when the truck isn’t at a scheduled stop serving lunch or dinner to adoring, hungry fans.

This year, La Casa is celebrating 65 years in business. Coming from a single start-up pizza shop, to an Omaha landmark with pizza requested nationwide is quite an achievement.
