Kong Dog (kongdog.us) celebrated the grand opening of its inaugural Nebraska location with free Kong Dogs for the first 200 customers at Nebraska Crossing Mall in Gretna.

The transformation of the former Auntie Anne’s into Kong Dog warranted a total remodel. What was once a familiar pretzel haven now stands as a vibrant and modern space, beckoning foodies.

Kong Dog isn’t the average American stadium-food staple you might imagine. It offers a rainbow of customizable flavors, from fruity pebbles to hot Cheeto coating your choice of mozzarella or meat — all on a stick.

Kong Dog’s specialty is Korean corn dogs, a snack that surged in popularity in South Korea in the early 2000s. While the fundamentals are present, the Korean corn dog is akin to the Frappuccino compared to the traditional corn dog’s black coffee.

While the Korean corn dog takes center stage, Kong Dog offers more than just that. The franchise also features Boba Tea, also known as “Bubble Tea,” a flavored milk tea containing tapioca balls, which are edible translucent spheres produced from tapioca, a starch derived from the cassava root. At Kong Dog, you can enjoy plain, brown sugar and strawberry matcha boba options, alongside lemonades, Iced Ube Latte and sparking-ades.

Kong Dog is open from 11 a.m. to the mall’s closing, at 8 p.m. daily. Learn more at kongdog.us.
