Kirsch Transportation Services Inc. Relocates, Announces Ribbon Cutting
In August, Kirsch Transportation Services Inc. (www.kirschtrans.com) was excited to announce their move to the Gene Leahy Mall area in downtown Omaha. To celebrate, a ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for October 10, from 8 to 10 a.m. The historic building, which was previously home to Alvine Engineering, is located at 11th and Douglas Streets. The 30,000-square-foot building will house 60 employees who are responsible for moving freight around North America. The Kirsch’s were drawn to the history and charm of the building as well as the exciting renovations to the riverfront and Gene Leahy Mall.
The vision has become reality, and the employees at Kirsch couldn’t be more excited to enjoy the posh new space. MCL Construction and RDG Planning & Design incorporated the Kirsch vision and culture into the entire project. The interior has been completely gutted and every inch of the new space carefully transformed to meet the specific needs of the busy operation. It was extremely important to preserve as much of the building’s history as possible, so original wood was repurposed into a large sliding barn door and custom tables in the break room. Wags Sign Co. put the final touch on the walls with several beautiful murals throughout the building. The second floor will serve as the operations area while the main floor houses a relaxing yoga studio, gym, recreation area, and full kitchen and break room.
Kirsch, a third-party logistics company, was founded by Camilla Moore Kirsch and son Matthew James Kirsch in 2001. The brokerage operation handles freight for several fortune 200 companies which reflects the company’s capability and integrity to handle freight with great quality.
