Omaha’s favorite free summer concert and fireworks show on Friday, June 29, 2012, in Memorial Park – will feature the legendary and two-time Grammy award winner, Huey Lewis and The News. Opening for Huey Lewis will be Mockingbird Sun, a hot country-rock band who has shared the stage with Toby Keith and other great artists.

The Bank of the West Celebrates America Band Contest on Facebook will allow the public to once again vote for an up-and-coming band to open the concert. For the sixth year, Bank of the West is proud to partner with Food Bank for the Heartland, which has been feeding the hungry in our community for more than 30 years. Bank of the West Celebrates America will again be held on the Dodge Street side of Memorial Park to give concert attendees ample room to enjoy the concert and fireworks. In addition, two large screens will be positioned next to the stage to offer concert-goers close-up views of the bands. Concert attendees also will be able to send text messages to the screens to add to the enjoyment of the event.
