Gross Catholic High School Hosts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony & Community Open House

Gross Catholic High School celebrated the completion of the renovation of the Holy Family Chapel and the construction of a new state-of-the-art Health and Conditioning Center.  The projects are part of Gross Catholic’s Spirit Strong building initiative which also includes the future installation of synthetic turf on the existing practice field.

The renovated chapel emphasizes the school’s continued commitment to Catholic education in the community and the new Health and Conditioning Center will further enhance the growing strength and conditioning program, serve its top-level athletic programs and instill the importance of overall health and wellness in the students and families of Gross Catholic.  The official Ribbon Cutting and blessing of the renovated Holy Family Chapel and new Health and Conditioning Center was held in conjunction with the Sarpy County of Chamber on January 12th at Gross Catholic High School.

The new 9,000 square ft. Health and Conditioning Center is the largest of its kind for any Nebraska high school. The facility features twenty weight lifting stations, turf for indoor conditioning, cardio equipment, classrooms, lockers, and an area for sports medicine programs and practices.  The facility will be used to enhance athletic performance, educate students on overall health and wellness and provide the opportunity for all students to focus on overall fitness.

In total, Gross Catholic High School raised $2.7 million for the construction and renovation project.
