The co-founders of Omaha-based Green Schingle, LLC (Schingle) are pleased to announce that the National Science Foundation and the Nebraska Department of Economic Development have awarded them a combined $300,000 in competitive innovation grants. The award process for these grants is highly competitive. Annually, the National Science Foundation (NSF) awards only 300 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants – over the past decade, only 15 Nebraska companies have received this type of NSF support. For Schingle, the NSF’s SBIR Phase 1 award supports the research and development of a recommendation technology that combines content and user preferences, matching the most qualified candidates with the hiring manager’s specific needs. This technology will help Schingle’s customers better manage the short-listing process for selecting the most qualified candidates to interview.
