Greater Omaha SCORE (omaha.score.org), is partnering with the Start Center for Entrepreneurship in Omaha to provide individuals in underserved communities the opportunity to start and build their own small businesses. The Start Center engages early stage startup businesses and entrepreneurial talent to build up strong entrepreneurial ecosystems in urban communities by cultivating early identification of entrepreneurial talent in the challenged and mixed income communities of North Omaha. In support of this effort, Greater Omaha SCORE is providing one-on-one mentoring by SCORE Certified Small Business Mentors to participants in the program. Completion of mentoring sessions is a core program requirement. Greater Omaha SCORE mentors are mentoring in all three phases of the program: Launch Institute, Starters Academy, and Founders Academy.
Start Center classes and the mentoring sessions are held at Metropolitan Community College’s Fort Omaha Campus. For more information on the Start Center, you may visit their website at http://startcenteromaha.org.
