People often ask “What is SCORE?” or “What does SCORE do?” SCORE is a resource partner to the U.S. Small Business Administration with the mission of helping small businesses succeed.  99 percent of businesses in America are small businesses. SCORE Omaha is busy every day in the Greater Omaha area helping small businesses start, grow, and succeed.

In 2013 Greater Omaha SCORE created the following impact:
• 156 new businesses were started
• 30 new jobs created
• 132 SCORE Clients grew their businesses
• 60 percent of new SCORE Clients are in business yet today

SCORE partners with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, the Nebraska Business Development Center, Western Iowa Small Business Development Center, and other business support organizations.

90 percent of businesses started with SCORE assistance are continuing in business after 5 years – double the national average rate. Volunteers are available to speak to your group or organization and tell the SCORE story. Additionally, the local organization is always seeking volunteers to help Omaha’s aspiring entrepreneurs.
