Greater Omaha Chamber’s July 30 Virtual HIRE Conference a Must for Business Owners
The Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce (www.omahachamber.org) is marketing the virtual HIRE Conference, slated for July 30, as a must-attend event for area business owners as they continue the comeback from COVID-19 and address common personnel questions. Those include: Are we going to hire? Who are we going to hire? How do we hire, onboard, and engage workers remotely? The conference has a challenge for the region’s human-resource professionals: instead of going back to the way it used to be, reboot the hiring process and move forward to the way it should be.
The current situation gives business owners an opportunity to create something that might be better, maybe more sane, and a bit more focused, rather than just doing it the ways they’ve done it for years and years, according to Bryan Johanson, COO of The Adler Group, a consulting and training company specializing in hiring-process reengineering, and also the keynote speaker for the 2020 HIRE Conference. His keynote is titled “Rebooting Hiring.”
Ben Gano, director of talent strategy for Enova Group and a HIRE Conference co-creator, said the conference has been a place for the most progressive Omaha recruiters and HR professionals to discuss the hottest talent strategies in each of the last five years. Though going virtual will make the conference different, other topics on the agenda include unconscious bias and recruitment; learning the signs of recruiter burn-out; compensation after COVID-19; and what you need to know about hiring veterans.
The Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce has more than 3,100 member business and is five-star-accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in its mission to advocate for a strong business climate and member businesses.
