The Metropolitan Community College Business Development Center rolled out its January events schedule, with two workshops featuring networking and recruiting best practices. These events are designed to give business owners, entrepreneurs and community builders practical tools they can use right away. MCC Business Development Center events are free and open to the general public at the MCC at The Ashton location in Millwork Commons (1106 N. 12th St.).
Saturday, Jan. 24: Networking that Actually Works (1 – 2:30 p.m.) Learn how to turn quick introductions into meaningful opportunities. Attendees will learn warm introduction techniques, simple follow-up scripts and practical next steps. This workshop is recommended for entrepreneurs, creatives and anyone who wants to feel more confident meeting people.
Saturday, Jan. 31: Smart Recruiting in the Age of AI: Tools and Trends (Noon – 12:30 p.m.) Explore how AI is reshaping the hiring process — and how small business owners and HR teams can use these tools to attract qualified talent more efficiently. This workshop is recommended for small business owners, HR teams, hiring managers and anyone responsible for talent recruitment. The MCC Business Development Center is a dedicated resource center for business owners. Aspiring entrepreneurs can access free, personalized consulting from local business owners. The center offers ongoing no-fee and low-cost noncredit courses and events.
